Eco-sustainability of cotton textiles: moisture absorption case study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract Moisture absorption is a crucial property of cotton fabrics, as it directly affects their comfort and performance in various applications, well fabric’s degradation. While the moisture ability fibres has been extensively studied, influence geometric, structural, mass characteristics fabrics on capacity remains less explored. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate relationship between these fabric parameters identify additional factors contributing fabrics’ overall ability.

Superoleophobic cotton textiles.

Common cotton textiles are hydrophilic and oleophilic in nature. Superhydrophobic cotton textiles have the potential to be used as self-cleaning fabrics, but they typically are not super oil-repellent. Poor oil repellency may easily compromise the self-cleaning property of these fabrics. Here, we report on the preparation of superoleophobic cotton textiles based on a multilength-scale structure...

Fundamentals of Moisture Transport in Textiles

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and other techniques are being used to investigate moisture transport in textiles. MRI revealed that moisture distribution in carpet is significantly influenced by the details of the vacuum extraction procedure used to remove excess water. Industrially relevant through-flow drying of carpet has been simulated on a laboratory-scale dryer as well as inside an MRI ...
